Text caption transition

I have a slide with a stand-alone video (not a slide video).  I also have a text caption below the video that I want to be static text.  But no matter what I do with the text caption's properties, it fades in and out.  I've set it to no transition, I've tried fading in only and setting the timing to 0...no effect.  I have the text caption set to play for the side duration.  Still no effect.

Am I missing something really elementary here?

Thanks!

Rachael

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Is this the first or the last slide of the file? I'm asking this because the default Start & End setting of a file is also to fade in/out. You can change that in the Preferences, Project, Start & End. I suppose you already checked the slide transition?

    Lilybiri,

Thanks so much for reply to this. I have been denting my head trying to figure out why my first slide was always fading in regardless of no transitions or effects applied. The answer was indeed in the preferences for the "start and end".

    Thanks Much,

    J Carter

Yes!  That was it!  Thank you.

I had indeed checked the slide transition to see if that was it, but I didn't think about the entire project having one.  I knew it had to be something basic.
