I am creating a responsive project with a TOC.
I would like learners to use this training as a quick reference guide, so it is important for me that they are able to navigate to any slide using the TOC.
However, the option to "Navigate Visited Slides Only" is greyed out and cannot be disabled.
Can someone help me with this? There are other options that are weirdly greyed out. I hope there is a solution to fix them. Here is another example of greyed out options:

OK, that explains. My focus was on Responsive projects, and Theme.
That stupid 'Pretest' is messing up your project. Sorry for the 'curse'. Pretest slides lead to taking out all navigation possibilities. You cannot offer free navigation, not by TOC nor by Playbar. It is one of the reasons I never use Pretest slides at all. My apologies that I didn't think about that 'loud screaming' possibility. Same happens when you use Branch Aware in a quiz. Why do you use 'ungraded' question slides instead o

Double-checking in a new responsive project, and I was able to deactivate 'Navigate Visited Slides only', which BTW is not dimmed, nor checked in a default setting. When I cannot reproduce a problem it becomes very difficult.
I see that you are using a theme 'Pearl'. Since the TOC setup (and all Skin setups) is part of the theme, I would be looking in the Theme. So I switched to Pearl, but it hasn't that setting activated neither. This means someone has edited the Theme, apparently without saving it as a custom Theme. That is often a problem as I found out during consultancy jobs.
You could replace the changed Pearl Theme by the original one in Captivate.
Same comment about your dimmed options in the Skin editor. There are some limitations in responsive projects (like TOC is only possible in Overlay, and you cannot use all playbars) but they don't have all the dimmed options you show in the screenshot.

Hi Lilybiri,
Thank you for trying. I tried changing the theme back to Captivate Default, but it is not changing the relevant options here:
I have a few quiz questions in which I selected "Ungraded" and "Pre-Test" when prompted. I wonder if that could be causing this problem? Or maybe is it something under project settings that I messed up? When I created this project, I played around with default settings, like default slide length, and default font.

Why do you use 'ungraded' question slides instead of Knowledge Check slides? You cannot convert a quiz slide to a Knowledge Check slides, your last sentence is confusing to me. Here is a blog post where I compare Quiz slides with Knowledge Check slides:

That explains it!
I chose Pre-Test because I needed something that was ungraded. My manager does not want any kind of failure message reaching our learners.
I will have to convert these to Knowledge Check slides. It appears I can customize these Knowledge Checks to prevent them from failing our learners when they get too many questions wrong.
Thank you for sharing your very helpful blog post.

You're welcome. Always happy to meet someone who is not convinced that only YT videos can be useful. Quizzes is one of the topics I have explored in-depth. As is the Timeline and Themes.
