I created a new Captivate 9 blank project. I used the White Theme.
On slide 1, I added a transparent button and set the style to default transparent button style
When I preview the program and roll over the button, I get (as expected)
But when I roll over the button, I get (not so expected)
This is the default style that ships with Captivate and no changes have been made in the OSM
What is causing this behavior and how do I resolve it?

Thanks for reporting this. Did you try to replace the theme in the Public folder by the original one and re-apply the theme?

I just double-checked, but do have three states as expected, with same font size. Here is the State View panel for the Default Transparent Button, White Theme and White Theme Color Palette:
Did you check the rollover state in the OSM? Normally for transparent buttons the label is identical for the three InBuilt States, in this default theme it is Trebuchet Regular, 12pts
You seem to have a different fontsize for Rollover, and this has been a custom change, it is not the default style for this theme. Did you upgrade from an older version? Are you on 9.0.0.230?

Hey Lilybiri
Here is my OSM, my State view and my Version
In the State editor, you can see that the Normal and Down States are fine, but the over is a problem. BTW this is happening on other machines in use by friends that I just checked with

We get the same type of issue if we create a custom style

Hmm, you didn't answer my question about the version number. Did you install the hot fix? I did, cannot check if this was also an issue with the first released version.
Sorry, I'm bit tired today. You are indeed on 9.0.0.230, after hot fix.

Is this the first version of CP on the machines? Can you try to clear the Preferences (utils subfolder under installation folder). If you had an older version before, did you delete the Layouts folder when installing CP9, the one in the Public documents?

Well, no real progress.
Lilybiri, after your suggestion (BTW TYVM), I did clear the Preferences. On my machine, Captivate 9 was installed after 7 and 8
I DID NOT delete the older layouts folders
We created a new blank project and inserted a transparent button using the default settings for the White theme.
The state view shows
Getting closer, but notice the text shift in the Over and Down states. So far, the only way can prevent this is to "tighten up" the button h&w, preview the program, exit the preview and resize the button to the desired h&w to eliminate the shift. Does that sound right?

Can you delete the Layouts folder for 9? Or copy the original White theme to the public folder. The original theme is here:
C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 9 x64\Gallery\Layouts\9_0\en_US
At least, if you are also on en_US as I am (although I'm Belgian). The original theme for me has as 'date '8/8/2015' and its size is 13313Kb. Of course if you edited the theme, you'll lose customisation. But worth trying. It should use the original White Theme Colors palette.

Interesting Observation:
It seems that if the theme or style rule set used in a project was created BEFORE the Hot Fix was applied, the issues in those themes and styles will remain.
To test this, I reinstalled the Hot Fix on one of the machines. I created a new project. All worked as advertised. I opened a project created before I reinstalled the Fix, and the issues resumed.

Well Something like it. I recreated the customized theme and have gone through the affected projects. For now, it seems to be doing the trick, but a lot of rebuilding is gonna be necessary.
Thank you for your assistance.
