Unable to retake quiz after reviewing it (Captivate 7)

I want the ability to both retake the quiz and review it. If I fail the quiz on first attempt, both review and retake buttons populate. However, if I reveiw the quiz first and make it back to the results page, the retake quiz button is no longer there.

Is there a way I can fix this? I can't find anything in the quiz preferences that would indicate the retake button disappear after reviewing the quiz.

No, the way Captivate Quiz is designed, once you use Review, all Retake possibilities are gone. As they say 'by design'.

If you stay with default questions, you'll have to cope with that. Maybe remediation functionality could help, where you send a user to a content slide when he fails a question. But that means that he has to answer each question correctly, before he can proceed.

I found an odd answer...if you say that they cannot exit without passing, it will force them to pass, but you have to put in the project info the slide where the quiz starts for that to happen. Annoying but it works.

Hello Lilybiri,

I have just run into this review/retake problem. And for us it's a real issue. It is unacceptable to be forced to live with a situation where, simply because one has reviewed a quiz, one absolutely cannot retake it. (As a single option among many, this would be fine; as a built-in limitation, it certainly isn't.)

Is there any way around this? The problem is such that, for us, it means that we can hardly use Cap. quizzes.

Users need to be able to review the quizzes they've completed. And they need to be able to retake them, as many times as they wish. This is hardly an excessive demand. How can we get Cap. 7 to produce quizzes that meet it?

Thanks. Marvin DuBois

You can always enter a feature request.

As I answered already, with custom questions you can control everything, but it is a lot of work and has also its limitations.
