Hello. I promise I have read through all previous comments an replies on this but they seem to refer to previous versions of captivate so i want to check what is the correct process.
I have created a course with video demos. It is not linear and they dont have to watch a video to "Pass". They can select a vido to watch from a "Library" slide.
I would like the user to be able to rewind and forward the video they are currently on. The videos have an overlay slide to stop them from running consecutively BUT when the scrubbing option or the playbar is added, the user can end up forwarding too far to the next video accidentally.
How can i have the playbar only control one slide video and not to cover all video slides?
Thank you.
I am pretty new to all this!
I wonder why you didn't read my answer, and provide the details I asked for. Being new to this forum may be an explanation.
Not all users know about the difference between event and slide video. If you did capture the video demo slide from within the project, that may complicate the workflow I proposed, because you would need to have the published MP4 file to enable its use as event video.

There is no official name 'CP2021' but from the description I suspect you mean one of the later versions of CP2019. You find the exact version numer under Help, About Captivate.
The Captivate playbar always is for the complete project. No way to edit it. Out of the box, there is no way to show a slide playbar.
I suspect you inserted the video demos as slide video or created them from within the project which also lead to slide video. Those are synchronized with Captivate's Timeline.
Not sure to understand exactly what you want. Did you ever try to use event videos instead of slide videos? Event videos are not synchronized and get an individual control panel when you hover over its bottom. When the video plays, a scrub bar will appear which is limited to the video:
I indicated that control panel above with the red rectangle. You see the progress bar, and it is possible to move the round button to scrub forward or backwards.

Lilybiri, I am afraid I have had a bout of illness which meant I was away from work and so have not had access to my computer to view the response or respond to it. Thank you for your reponse. I will take a look at event video today and see if it solves my probble. I think the only reason I didn't want to use it is that I often use Overlays for questions and wasnt sure if that were possible. but I will give it a go. Yes indeed it is the later version of 2019.
