Videos on Mobile Device

Hello,

I’ve created an assessment in Captivate. I published it to My
Computer using HTML5 only for the Output Format, and checked Scalable HTML
content. I did not use Responsive Projects.

It works fine on my desktop.  I have a number of videos on various slides
using Event Video, and browsing to the MP4. Some videos are the full size
of the slide, while others just take up a small portion of the screen. On my IPhone
each of the videos pops out and takes up the whole screen, and the playbar isn’t
available. I have to close out of the video to go back to original slide.

Thank you for your help! Jen

What you describe is pretty much the default behaviour of many mobile phone browsers.  Captivate does not control this.  The browsers over-ride the Captivate settings.

Did you check on other non-Apple devices? I seem to remember that Apple forces the use of its own video player on its devices (dictator?).

No, I haven't been able to check that. It's a good idea. Thank you!

    Hi there,

I know this thread is old, however I'm experiencing this issue with our responsive courses. I'm using Captivate 19. Do you know if there is any way to resolve this issue? Our learners are confused by the video popping up in its own window, and it definitely messes up the content of the course. It seems pointless to develop responsive courses if they are unable to embed video on mobile devices? Just wondering if there have been any fixes/updates or if there is any suggestion as to how to make this work.

    Thank you!
    Rachel

Rod explained the reason, is not due to Captivate but to the browser.
