Videos within a Raptivity interaction won't play in Captivate 8. Is there a setting in Captivate 8 that will allow this? Thanks.

Hello,

I have been working on an interaction project in Raptivity called the Museum. The final published Raptivity project plays fine on it's own but when I place it into Captivate 8 the videos within the Raptivity interaction are blank. They don't play. The Raptivity project is a .swf file. Any thoughts on how I can make this work in Captivate 8? Thanks.

What is your output: SWF or HTML5? And what is the format of the Raptivity files, AFAIK those are not pure video, right?

Hi Lily,

Thanks for your reply. The final output of the Raptivity project is .swf. The videos within the Raptivity project are .flv.

You might try using a WebObject. Insert the Raptivity swf in it's own HTML file.

Thanks for the help. After reading your reply I did a quick research on web objects and HTML files and this option seems way over my head as I am a newbie...............I know, darn pesky newbies. Is it easier than it seems?

Can you not publish with an html page in Raptivity? DO you have Dreamweaver?

I can publish either as .swf or HTML5 from Raptivity. Unfortunately I do not have Dreamweaver.

When you first tried in Captivate did you insert the SWF as an animation? You need to be careful of the relative paths to the videos.

You could try the HTML5 option and insert as a web object.

Hello,

Yes, when I originally placed the Raptivity project in Captivate I inserted it as an animation as it is a .swf file. I can publish to HTML5, how would I input that in Captivate as a web object? Thanks again for your patience and help.

You say that you can publish Raptivity as a HTML animation, why not insert that HTML animation instead of SWF?
