what is the best way to import after effects or premiere pro video into Captivate 9

I want to import a video into Captivate and have it play seamlessly, to look like it's part of the Captivate stream. 

And to also retain the transparent elements in the video.

What is the best way to export from Ae or Pr, and then what is the best way to import into Captivate 9 ?

Is Captivate 9 the best eLearning package out there, or is there something better ?

Hi Craig,

There  is a bunch of questions there. Lets take them one at a time. 

Importing from AE or Premiere Pro, - You can't actually import AE or PP files into Captivate and it doesn't natively support an Alpha Channel, so you won't be able to import transparencies or single elements composited over a alpha background. You can however import video and play it, quite well in Captivate. I generally render out to an MP4 and import that way.

There is a long thread on using FLV video, which does support transparencies, but is not supported by Apple devices on the forum, just do a search.

In terms of the "best eLearning software" . For my purposes it is, its the most versatile, very stable and pretty affordable given the subscription service. Others may disagree.

The vast majority of the eLearning development market agrees that Captivate is the best choice. It's hard to get exact figures because Adobe doesn't share any numbers but they do claim to hold the largest market share.

 

I've used Lectora, Toolbook and Articulate and Captivate is my favourite.

Thanks guys!

Ok, I have built an .mp4.  I create a "Blank" slide or a "Content" slide ? 

Then I go to Video -> Insert Video -> Multi-Slide Synchronized Video ?

If I select Event Video, the video doesn't play.

If I select Multi-Slide Synchronized Video, the video plays, but these white flashes appear intermitently and the video is choppy.

Any thoughts on how to get the best .mp4 performance within Captivate ?
