Which publish setting do I use in Captivate 9 in order to make courses resume at a particular scene when not completed?

We are using an LMS called Savv-e Central. When I publish modules the learners never get the option of 'resuming where they left off' if they do not complete the module in the first instance. I have chosen 'Other Standard LMSs' in the LMS preferences and in the LMS Advanced Settings I only have 'Escape Version and Session ID' checked.  Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Joe,

I doubt that would be the case.  The OP stated in their first post that they only had Escape Version and Session ID checked in that dialog you've shown in your screenshot.  They've also said that the bookmarking works from SCORM Cloud without issue.  That would tend to indicate that SCORM Cloud is receiving the necessary resume data strings OK.

So far it looks a lot like another one of those darned "LMS denying responsibility" issues we get all the time.

You need to check with your LMS vendor to find out whether this particular LMS (which I have never heard of) supports SCORM standard Resume Data Bookmarking.

In the mean time, upload your SCORM course to SCORM Cloud to check that bookmarking DOES work from that LMS.  I'm betting the bookmarking will work for you from there.

If your LMS claims that it DOES support Resume Data bookmarking, ask them why the same SCORM course DOES have bookmarking from SCORM Cloud but NOT from their LMS.

Hi Rod, thank you for your post.  This is the response I received from our vendor - hope this helps? "Typically this related to the cmi.suspend data option which Captivate should send to the LMS when exited. This is also known as bookmark data. There are no options in Savvecentral to configure the suspend data as this is controlled from within the course package sending the data to the LMS. Please consult the Adobe forums for more information regarding the settings as they vary from the different Captivate versions"

Hi Rod, further to my previous post, I have just tried the SCORM cloud suggestion and it did resume where I left off so I will go back to the vendor - thank you for your assistance

Great.  Don't let them fob you off with claims that the issue is on the Captivate side.  Your test with SCORM Cloud proves that the Captivate module IS indeed sending the Resume Data.  SCORM Cloud will show you links to a log file for each instance the course content is viewed and these log files will clearly show the resume data strings.  You can send one of these log file links to your LMS vendor if they want to claim the calls are not being sent to their LMS.

It's a far too common problem for Captivate developers that our output gets blamed for issues with LMS integration.  In my experience only a small number of such issues are actually due to the Captivate output nowadays.  In the vast majority of cases it's the LMS that isn't functioning correctly or set up correctly.

Keep at them!

Also, on the off chance that you changed this default, in your Quiz Settings, in the Reporting panel, click the Advanced button and make sure that Never Send Resumed Data is not checked.
