Why does this letter B always show up in my fonts properties?

Why is this letter B always showing up in my Characters area within the Properties?  Does it have something to do with not being synced properly with TypeKit?

Hi there–

The "B" refers to the font weight. Adobe Gothic Std comes in two weights, L & B:

https://typekit.com/fonts/adobe-gothic

So where you'd see regular, bold, or italic for another font family, you will see L or B for Adobe Gothic Std.

I hope that this helps; let me know if you have any other questions here or at support@typekit.com.

Thanks! So the B and L stand for?

The L & B correspond to the light and bold font weights. (In the web font files for Adobe Gothic Std, these are the 300 & 700, respectively.)

Some other abbreviated weight names you may see when working with Japanese fonts are EL, R, M, SB, and H.

EL - extralight

R - regular

M - medium

SB - semibold

H- heavy

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Captivate seems to be corrupted. Clear the cache and clean the Preferences. I  never did see that B and I use a lot of Typekit fonts.
