Can anyone tell me if there is a fix for this. I created a simple 3D spinning animation in Flash and imported into CP4.
Yes I did set the publish settings for both Flash and Captivate to Flash player 10.
This animation completely destroyed the .swf. Sound appears when there was none and sounds like some sort of horror movie. The animation, skin, etc. are completey destroyed. Anyone know of a fix/work around? And yes exporting to animated .gif works with some serious file size, visual and performance issues so I don't wanna go that route.
Thanks AGAIN Adobe
Thanks.

Scott,
I have an idea of what's going on. Would it be possible to post or PM me the .fla source file? If not, no worries.

Hi Jim,
Here is the .FLA. Originally it was a 3D tween and then thinking that was the problem I converted the animation to keyframes, both destroys captivate. Any idea?
OH BTW I couldn't figure out how to send attachments by sending you a PM.
I've attached another file on another topic. In the captivate timeline bug file how would you easily place a highlight box over the "buy" button at 8 seconds?
I've been wrestling with Adobe on this bug, got an email from tech support in India, originally they said that's the program's intended behavior but I know that's a bunch of BS.
Thanks for the help.

Scott,
3D does work. There's another post on this issue here and it's been answered by Adobe Tech Support. I followed the instructions on that post and your animation worked perfectly. When they talk about opening the project, they mean your Captivate project. If your 3D animation is a keyframe animation, you lose the ability to preview your project in the preview window... however you can still preview the project in the browser (F12). If your animation is a regular 3D transform, you can still preview in the preview window, except your animation won't run. Attached is your 3D animation and I converted it back to a regular 3D transform.
Can you start another thread for your highlight box / button issue?
Hope that helps,

Thanks Jim it does work.
So it's safe to say 3D animations on a timeline created in Flash won't work in Captivate. So If I wanted to have my image spin around once, stop for 2 seconds and then fade out I would have to do it all with code.

Scott,
3D animation created on a timeline will work, it's just that you'll have to preview your Cp project via the browser (F12) to see them in action. If you try to do a regular preview (F4), it will either spaz out or not display at all. On Cp project publish, make sure you select FP10 and that your animations are external to your project and all will be fine.

I am currently trying to embed an AS3 swf file that was created in Flash CS4 and includes 3D rotation into Captivate 4. I have tried all the steps that have been suggested, and I still get the same results that the original poster had run into.
Are there any other solutions?
