Autoplay: Adobe Captivate 6 Project

Hi we created a project for a client and published a .swf. They came back saying they have a problem with the course not starting automatically.

" We have re-published the latest version and are still running into the same issue.  The course does not automatically start.  To begin the course, users will need to click on the first slide in the menu on the right. The first slide doesn’t appear so that we can include text to provide instruction. The users’ expectation is that the course will auto start. We have tried all we can on our end and seeing we are not the authors and do not have a way to affect settings, we are limited and can no longer troubleshoot.

We are having trouble viewing the course.  It does not automatically start playing once it is loaded.  It only works the next button or a slide in the outline is clicked; it does not automatically advance.  We have uploaded the presentation several times and have tried a variety of work arounds but nothing works. "

We have checked the autoplay options under Edit>Preferences.  Its fine and checked. At our end also .swf plays automatically.

Any help??

just to let you know, we had this problem and the solution was to actually turn auto play OFF.

Is the client launching just the SWF by itself, or are they launching the SWF by launching the HTM file that Captivate also publishes?

Im not sure. Is there a difference? When I open both the SWF and HTM file, it works normally and autoplays as it should.

I believe the client uploads the SWF files onto some server. Could it be some setting at that end?

    Yes there is a difference.

Captivate publishes an SWF with an HTM and JS files.  If the project is going into a SCORM LMS then there will be lots of other files in addition to the three mentioned above.

I would suggest that you check if the client is using the HTM file to launch the SWF and that they have all three (SWF, HTM,JS) in the same folder.

THEN see if they have the same issue even when using the HTM.
