Background image right size but won't fit

I have a 1920 x 1080 project. I have Exported from Adobe Illustrator a 1920 x 1080 image and set it as the background in Captivate. Despite being the exact right size, the background has some white background of the project showing around the top, bottom and right hand side, as shown in the image below. When viewing the project in the browser, this white border is visible. I don't want this - I want the image to fit snuggly. Any ideas to fix this would be very welcome!

    Thank you for answering Paul.

Having played around a little more I seem to have fixed through trial and error, but I cannot be sure what the problem is.

I think it might be down to something related to resizing images in Adobe Illustrator (I'm a newbie with AI). It seems to have "weaken" the pixels on the edge of the image so they appeared white. I cropped these off and resized the image again. I then used an image fill background, streteched. After about 5 attempts with this method it worked.

Thanks again for your reply. I love your YouTube videos and have learned a huge amount from them - thank you.

I can't know if my experience is the same as yours but I've run into similar situations before when I publish my project with HTML Scaling turned on. This feature will scale up or down depending on your browser size. Something in that scaling can cause a think white line on some or all of the edges. Try increasing the size of the background image so it's a little larger and if you must use scaling, I find I get better results when the background is simply placed at the lowest layer, rather than used as an actual slide background.

You didin't tell how you exported the image from AI. Personally, since a background image is bitmap by default, I wonder why you choose for a vector graphics app like AI instead of PS?

Did you check the Options Tab when you inserted it as a separate layer. Since it is a background image, I would not have used a separate image (layer) at all. Which theme do you use? Since this is meant as background, I suggest to create a custom theme which includes theme colors palette, object styles, master slides (for background), skin and Recording defaults. Have a look at:
