Can you convert a published .exe file into a .swf?

I have files of some training that was provided to us that we would like to make some modifications to. Currently the training is in a published .exe file (the training vendor only provided the .exe files). I would like to convert the .exe file into a .swf file. Is this possible? or would I need the orignal copy?

I'm afraid you'll need the original CP-file

Is there any way  to covert the .exe file to some sort of media such as an .mp4?

Well, there's no direct conversion method...

But you could certainly use a tool to record someone going through the .exe...like Captivate (or Camtasia or Screenr, etc)...then possibly modify the screens that you want to change that way.

Of course, you should be sure you have proper license to make such changes...

Can you not ask those who provided the courseware to you to make the changes?
