Captivate 8 button active/inactive

Hello,

I have been using Captivate 8 for about a year. I am self-taught with fantastic help I receive on this site. I have used smart shapes as buttons for some time. One thing I have not figured out, is why there is an inactive section of each button. The point of using a button is to have someone click on it. Why would you want it to go inactive if you are using it for a non quiz question. I normally just use the little slider and make the button active for the whole time it is on the timeline. Can someone help me understand why the button has this functionality?

Thanks,

Peter

The vertical line shown on the timeline between the active and inactive segments sets the point where the button will pause the timeline.  If you don't want the button to pause, but want it to be active for the entire timeline, you can deselect the Pause After checkbox.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you tell me where that check box is located? I am working on a responsive project. I have looked in the Style, Actions, and Options properties tabs. On a side note, I enjoyed your latest video!
