Question

overlapping audio

Hi all,

I added audio clips to my project in Captivate 2. I'm having two odd things happen:

1. When playing a slide in "editing" mode, the audio matches up perfectly. But when playing the whole project from start to finish, there is additional audio on a slide that I cannot find when editing. Anyone have an idea where this mysterious audio clip would be hiding?

2. After publishing a project and then playing it and using the playback bar, when pressing the forward button to move to the next slide, the audio on the next slide overlaps with the audio from the previous slide. Does anyone know a way to have the audio from the current slide stop when a user clicks the forward button?

Thanks!

Steve

    Hi Steve,

With regard to #1, I've had this happen to me. The audio is probably attached to an object on the slide. Double click on each object (text box, click box, image, etc.) on the slide to open its dialog box. Click on the Audio tab. If there is sound associated with that object, the Play button and the Edit button will not be grayed out. Once you figure out which object has the "hidden" sound, click the X button to delete it.

Thanks for the info. In this case I couldn't find the mysterious audio so I deleted all the audio files I could find and started over. This worked but I'll try to file your advice back in my brain somewhere for future use!

    Hi stevex70,
regarding your second question, did you find a solution to audio from a slide continuing to play after advancing to a new slide? I'm having the same problem and would welcome any advice from you or the community.
    Thanks!
