    Does anyone have a free Print Button that can be used in Captivate 4. I had one but now it isn't working. Thanks.

    Have you tried the one that comes preloaded in the widgets?

    Insert > Widget > PrintSlides.swf  (Program Files > Adobe > Adobe Captivate 4 > Gallery > Widgets)

    Hope this helps.

    One last thing, for the one that was working but isn't now, be sure to use "bring to front" option with this widget.  That might correct the problem with the button you were using.

    Easy Mike!

    It's good to create a print button (instructions are below) - but you can use a standard blank or text button too

    1) Create a 'printer friendly document', pdf it and save it where you will publish your project

    2) Add a button, and change the button action (default is 'continue') to 'Open URL or File' and select your PDF

    3) When your learner clicks on the button, the PDF will open for them to print

    ~~~~ Create buttons~~~~
    You need to use a programme that allows you to create PNG files (illustration, powerpoint etc).
    Effectively, you need to design 3 slightly different buttons to represent how it looks: normally (up button), when the mouse is over it (Over button), and when it's clicked (Down button).
    You need to save the three buttons as PNG files into the Captivate Gallery with the following syntax:
    Button action_button name_button type.png
    For example, to create a 'print button', save your three buttons as:
    1) Up: print_my button_up.png
    2) Over: print_my button_over.png
    3) Down: print_my button_down.png
    The Captivate Gallery save pathway is normally: C://Programme fiels/adobe/Captivate/Gallery/Buttons
    I recommend you create a folder for your customised buttons - it saves you having to navigate through all the ugly standard ones
    Happy printing button adding!
    Hi there MikaelMcL
    Hop on over to fellow Adobe Community Expert Paul Dewhurst's site. Toss some change in his tip jar and grab his print widget!
    Click here to visit Paul's site.
    I downloaded the Print1 widget (which is an swf file) from Paul Dewhurst's raisingaimee site. But I don't know how to put it on a page in my course.
    Thanks for any advice.
    Hi Janatwork,
    You  didn't mention  which version you're using.  What I'm about to share works in Cap4, not sure about any others.
    Take the widget that you've downloaded and put it in Captivates widgets folder found here:
    Program files > Adobe > Adobe Captivate 4 > Gallery > Widgets
    Then, with your Captivate project open, click Window from the Menu bar, then choose Widgets.  The widget pane will appear on the right of the screen where the library usually opens.  Locate your new widget in the list and simply click and drag it onto the page.  That's all there is to it!
    Hope this works for ya.
