TAB order not working properly

Hi....having a weird thing happen.   I am using Custom buttons for all controls vs the built-in nav bar in Captivate.  I have ALL of my buttons on Slide 1 and have them set to view "Rest of Project".  This is great but of course, there are pages where we have to add other buttons and in some cases even hide the Next or Back buttons and use special Next/Back buttons with specific Advanced Actions and so on.  My question is....If I set the TAB order on slide 1 for all my buttons should those buttons TAB order overrule the TAB order of buttons on other slides?  I am seeing inconsistencies with this.  In a course I built last year it worked fine...now it is not.  What I expect to see in my TAb order is this: Next, Back, CC, Replay, Pause, Menu, Exit, and then any Popup button that I added to pages.  Instead, what I am seeing for a TAB order is this:  Next, then the popups, Back, CC, Replay, Pause, Menu, Exit.  I am using version number 11.1.1.676.  I have my TAB order set properly on Slide 1 as well as the TAB order of popups buttons on those specific slides.  Why would the TAB orders be getting mixed up???  Please help.  Thanks!

They will only work correctly on the first slide, then it stops working. You'll need to put them on every slide if you need 508 compliance.

"Stops working" as in it's supposed to work but now it doesn't?  If I put buttons on every slide then this means for the Mute/Unmute and Play/Pause buttons I would need to create an Advanced action for each new instance of these buttons on every one of my 60 slides.   You know because Captivate makes a new instance of every button.  Unbelievable.

I get it. When allowed, I write JavaScript to take care of the functionality, which ignores, the numbers appended to the button names. No Advanced Actions.
