The Asset panel does not load in Captivate (2019 release)

The Asset Panel of Captivate (2019 release) fails to load, when your laptop/desktop is behind a firewall.

To fix this issue, follow the steps below:

  1. Download the zip file from the location.
  2. There is a folder named FoldersToBeCopiedToNodeModulesFolder inside the zip. Copy all the folders inside the folder to <Captivate Installed Directory>/ns/node_modules.
  3. Copy the files server.js, package.json, and proxy.json to the folder <Captivate Installed Directory>/ns/.
  4. If there are proxy settings in your machine, add the IP, and the port number in the file proxy.json, that was copied. You can find the proxy settings in the Internet options section.
    1. In the file proxy.json, there is a key proxyServer and it's value, by default, is blank. The value must be in the format http://<proxy-ip>:<proxy-port>. For example, http://127.0.0.1:8888.
    2. If there is a username and password associated with the proxy settings, then the value will in the format http://<username>:<password>@<proxy-ip>:<proxy-port>. For example, http://username:password@127.0.0.1:8888.

Note- If proxy auto-config settings exist in your machine, refer to the PAC file to get the IP and Port number, and add it manually in the copied proxy.json file.

Restart Captivate and re-launch the Asset Panel.

I agree.....this is pretty advanced.  Would be nice if Adobe just comes up with a patch for this.

Re: The Asset panel does not load in Captivate (2019 release)

Thanks, that worked for me. Navigating around the dialog is still way slower and less responsive than without proxies, but at least it lets me review what's there and download it.

Btw - I happened to know only the proxy URL instead of the IP, but it worked just as well: http://<proxy-URL>:<proxy-port>

This did not work for me.  Are there any other "fixes" available?
