High CPU usage on Adobe Connect (MacBook Air 2018)

I just upgraded my computer from a MacBook Pro 2011 to a MacBook Air 2018.  When I run the Adobe Connect app on my MacBook Air, the CPU usage (per Activity Monitor) is consistently higher than 100% (on a dual-core processor).  This is obviously causing my computer to overheat and constantly run the fans at full speed.  My MacBook Pro did nothing of the sort.  I've seen older questions about this on the Adobe Forums, but no recent issues...any help would be appreciated.

Temporary solution (until HTML client is supported) -- download 32-bit Adobe Connect app: http://download.adobe.com/pub/connect/updaters/meeting/9_7/AdobeConnect_985.57.dmg
