Using the drop down menu next to the Camera button at the top of the room, select a different video input. As I recall, the USB class device worked while the iSight camera did not. It's been a while since I have used the Mac in Connect so the names may have changed, but there should be more than one to choose from.

iSight camera connected via the external firewire port on Mac should work fine in DV mode.

If the video stream is not appearing please try by switching the camera mode to DV instead of HDV.
