Dropbox discount is a myth if you already have dropbox.

Long time subscriber to Cretaive Cloud, but just recently saw the advertised "50% discount" to dropbox. I am already a subscriber to Dropbox. I contacted them and discovered that if one is already a subscriber, then there is NO 50% discount. Coming on the heels of a 50% increase in CC rates, this game playing by dropbox is disappointing and CC should mention that if you already subscribe to dropbox, no 50% discount for you. It is only for new subscribers.

A 50% discount on Dropbox is offered by Adobe as a sweetener to subscribe to Adobe. I am not casting any "blame," on either party, but a potential subscriber to CC can be mislead by the absence of the words "for new subscriptions to Dropbox."

That's right, I don't see any caveats on the Adobe site. Adobe needs to change this, otherwise it can be considerd purposely misleading.

From Dropbox I received this denial of Adobe's promo:

"Please note that the discount in question is regarding the creation of new accounts and cannot be applied to already existing paid accounts.
As your account under lixxxxxxxxxxxx@gmail.com already exists and is under a paid subscription, it is unfortunately not eligible for this discount."

This happened to me too.  I searched both sites and there is no mention that the perk is invalid to current subscribers.

Two months later, nothing has changed and I fell in to the same trap. 50% is only for new Dropbox subscribers and yet there is no language anywhere stating this. This is misleading.

There are no immediate alerts on the Dropbox offer to state it is for new customers only, however there is (right at the bottom of the advertisement ) a note which states :

*Visit the partner websites for terms and conditions related to the offers. If you need more information about an offer, please contact the partner

Therefore, this is to supposedly cover Adobe incase other conditions apply.

This is a worldwide forum,  but in the UK for example, there are regulations to protect consumers against misleading advertising.

The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations mean you cannot mislead or harass consumers by, for example:

• including false or deceptive messages
• leaving out important information <<
• using aggressive sales techniques

There is probably a case to show that Adobe are leaving out important information on this offer, but cover themselves with the caveat * above.

In my personal opinion the Adobe offer should be taken down from the website (or modified with clear conditions) as it obviously misleading several existing members.

The spirit of the offers to add value to an Adobe  Creative Cloud Membership should be applauded, but in this case it seems to be creating the opposite effect looking at the comments on this thread.

I would add that the Adobe CC Partner Perks link takes you directly to the Dropbox website and offer page, which states, "Get 50% off Dropbox Plus as a benefit of your Adobe Creative Cloud Membership. Dropbox has your back—from first draft to final deliverable. Manage your time, your tools, and all your projects more efficiently." 

No where on Dropbox does it say the offer is restricted to new subscribers only, or is there any link or reference to Terms and Conditions that might detail any limitations. Is the fault with Adobe, or Dropbox, or both? Both offer descriptions are vague at best (what is the timeframe and length of the offer, for instance). I've been using Adobe since 1992 and Dropbox since 2009.

What partner benefit is actually being offered here? It seems like none.

If you chat to a Dropbox consultant regarding your account, online; and being an Adobe Creative Cloud Member already, they are willing to offer you a discount. After chatting with them, I received a 20% discount. While it's not quite 50%, it is better than full price.

Was that for a new Dropbox subscription? I have an existing one and they will not honor a discount. Just chatted with them today after seeing this.

This change will be reflected in all geos (and within the Benefits Tab on Creative Cloud Desktop and Adobe Home) over the next ~2 weeks.

Well I just came to this thread because I had the same issue. I'm in Australia and there are no terms or conditions. False advertising is what I see.
