Hi,
I would like to use my cloud storage to store some packaged inDesign files that are currently stored on my laptop hard drive. I will have them in the cloud as security but also to share with a colleague. After going, round and round in circles with Adobe chat service, it appears that you can't upload a folder from a desktop to the cloud and since syncing files is no longer supported, I'm not sure there is much benefit to the cloud at all.
How are users finding this? Does anyone have a workaround for bulk uploading packaged content or as another example, an image library of photos structured in folders that you just want to place in the cloud?
Many thanks, Jo

you can't use adobe cc as a general file storage. check another cloud storage system or even safer, purchase an external hard drive for storage.

Thanks for your reply. You used to be able to store and share folders with sync option though. Now you can't seem to collaborate on an inDesign document which is what I signed up to do. We were told we could if we signed up to a business account but it doesn't appear that way.

correct, the sync folder is gone/going away.

With Adobe, when you pay for storage you're not getting storage, you're only getting excuses and your wallet pilfered. Without the ability to upload already-organized folder structures, Adobe Creative Cloud storage is completely 100% useless.

this is a big minus point for Adobe. It used to be so easy beforehand. I manage a big book project with chapters being organised in folders, as each chapter is in turn managed by a separate team. It s a shame Adobe is not able to implement its changes in a way that existing projects can be transferred to the cloud only solution.

there are convenient and free alternatives (although beyond a few gb, they charge).

But unlike Adobe, when those sites charge they actually provide the paid-for service.

adobe's cc file "system" has more than a few issues. but, to be fair to adobe, it's not designed for file storage. it's designed for file sharing.

If it's not designed for file storage, why does the Adobe Creative Cloud signup page refer to it as "1TB cloud storage" or "100GB cloud storage"?
Also, who needs a terabyte just to share files without backing them up? When's the last time you even shared half a terabyte of files without also wanting them to be backed up in the same location? The answer, for 99.9999% of Adobe users is "never".
Answer: It is clearly marketed as being storage. It's just storage that is designed to ensure you don't use anything remotely resembling the claimed storage space offered.

i don't really know why anyone would trust anyone's online file system.

Perhaps because they paid for it?

if you think paying is a reason to trust someone, you've lived a charmed life.

I think it's a reason to expect a service to be provided. If you think cloud storage is not suited to backup, you might want to learn a little more about the topic because many major businesses use it for just that every day, and many services are entirely predicated on that notion.
With that said, it feels like you are trolling so I will no longer be continuing this conversation nor reading your replies.

I gave up on it and started using dropbox which works for our needs. Adobe clearly sold it to me (spoke to a number of Adobe reps who confirmed) as being able to bulk upload and work from it if I upgraded to a business account. Turned out, it's very limited and they got rid of true project collaboration/storage aspect.
