Embed a Spark post in Portfolio

I have manafged to embed a spark page in portfolio, but not a spark post. I get the error message "this story hasn't been told yet...."

I'm new to both portfolio and spark, both seem quite restrictive but spark posts offer more design flexibility which is why I want to embed a post rather than a page. Is it possible?
