As a graphic design student heading into my last semester I can NOT wait for finals so I can finally end this one sided relationship of absurdity in the spring.
The only good thing about Adobe is your real-time live phone support when you need it. Other than that here are the things you need to fix IMMEDIATELY as in the next 90 days.
1 - I literally have zero care for your reasoning behind not having a universal dashboard across all of your software ----> especially the software that incorporates the same tools!!! Making me go on a treasure hunt between programs for each tool is comical on its best day, and downright pathetic every other day. A complete fail of user experience, user workflow, and anything logical.
2 - If you're going to charge me a monthly fee for access, then you need to ensure that access is not interrupted with useless popups, unnecessary tutorials, and inefficient workflows. For example, it should not be faster to export anything > upload to canva > create a design canvas > import the upload to that blank canvas > click BG remover > download the design asset without background > import to Adobe software to use. If that workflow is faster than your workflow, I'm not sure what's more pathetic: that you're not embarrassed, or that you don't even know that you should be embarrassed at that "signed off" workflow!!!
3 - After Effects is a video editing/creating/rendering/insert whatever program -------> why is it even a possibility for it to stall & quit responding when it does video things??? How is this not addressed in every update until it is fixed?????
4 - Where is the clear cache button on every program not named After Effects?
5 - The amount of time wasted in Photoshop from having to do the same task twice for it to enable or disable a function is mind-blowing. How does someone supervising a design team upgrade/update - "Approved that user workflow/experience"?
6 - The absolute stupidity that is required to hide Photoshop file save options behind "save as a copy" menu folder rather than just offer them under the export option folder is bordering on "2nd grade dropout" mentality. So glad that the supervisor who approved that design feature is collecting $XXX,XXX amount of money each year!!!
7 - absolutely love that my saved swatches can only be accessed if I reopen the design they were saved in first rather than just find them in my library like a normal file organization protocol used in every other software/program available to mankind!!! <-------this is sarcasm, in case you're letting the 2nd grade drop out handle this post
8 - If your phone support tells me the only option to solve my issue is to reset to default settings one more time, I'm going to become the beligerant customer you don't want. That is not a solution. That is an idiotproof policy meant to mask your inadequate training!! And your customers do not want to go back and reinstall or re setup their entire workstation again because you didn't train them on how to turn off annoying tutorial pop-ups.
9 - Image trace is a tool with tons of potential, but when the outcome creates 9,389,821,732,210 vector lines, you failed!! The reason you created that tool is the reason you should be embarrassed for not throwing dump trucks full of money at it to finalize it!!
10 - Canva is your competitor, whether you like it or not, and the reason it has more appeal than you is that its interface is a trillion times more intuitive than yours!!! If you do NOT understand what that means, find any other AI other than yours and ask it to translate this point!!! Because when I click something in any Adobe product, I am not testing that my mouse button is working. I am trying to do something that it should be doing. I do not want >>>NO ONE WANTS <<<< to go on a treasure hunt of third-party tutorials to figure out how to use your tools!!! if your tools location requires a tutorial to find it = FAIL!! If it requires a third-party tutorial to find it = EPIC FAIL!!!!!!!!! If your tools require a tutorial on how to use them in their most basic functionality = FAIL! If your tools require a third-party tutorial to show me how to do the most basic thing with that tool = EPIC FAIL ON EVERY POSSIBLE LEVEL!!!!!!!!
11 - charging me a monthly fee to access your products, and not using that money to enhance my experience or your products to make my productivity easier, faster, and better is criminal!!!
12 - Because your student rates are an expense that still requires an active budget line, they are too high!!! In an era where campuses are required to have a food pantry available to students, you are obligated and morally responsible to offer your products and services to students at a rate that is compatible with food pantry levels in an era where students are living in their vehicles and paying record-high tuitions, so that your rates don't make you look utterly TONE DEAF!!!
If for no other reason than you're a digital dope dealer. Once you get them hooked, they won't and can't go anywhere else because you hold all their designs, libraries, and software hostage!!! If you can not find a way to offer students access at a more reasonable rate, then I suggest you at least include everything in your product lineup at your highway robbery rate, as they learn your tools, and that also NEEDS to include your stupid "stock credits" product lineups!!!
13 - When I go to save something and your software feels it's necessary to warn me about something that isn't compatible with something, -------------> First thing you need to do is use English words that English-speaking individuals understand to describe the problem so that they have a chance to resolve it. Secondly, whatever the warning is that your software is generating -------> needs to bring the user directly and exactly to the problem area when they click on whatever it is you want them to click on so they can resolve it ----------->>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE!!!!!!
14 - The very next update needs to offer a "pars" option for every tool on every software apart of your product line. If you don't know what pars are I understand, since you haven't made it to the 3rd grade. Pars are the defaults/measurements/starting points/first function that I want your tool to use when I select it.
I am so tired of getting an update and then when i go to use a tool its default setting is nowhere near functional or useful.
Case in point. My current illustrator text tool now starts all text off at 6 6-point font!!! No matter what I do or what I ask your phone support, they cannot fix it. So whenever I add text, I now have to immediately go change its font size before doing anything else in my design because you tested nothing before releasing that update to my basic Apple operating environment setup!!! Thank you again, Mr 2nd Grade Dropout, for approving that update!!
15 - The appetite for short-form content and video consumption is at an all-time high. SO high that platforms are actually paying people to create more of this content. If you do not immediately make an environment that is more compatible with creating this, you are going to lose the race in preferential tools of creation. Meaning I do not want to create videos/reels or really anything that doesn't give me a full-screen functionality (looking at you after effects).
I also do not want to jump from tool to tool to tool to tool. I want to create > polish > monetize > schedule > engage. How do you not have a tool for this, and how do you not have a tool that dominates this space? Seriously, canva's free option is here, and Metrocools' option is climbing the ranks faster than your money grab ideas!!!
So in conclusion from a new design addict who has been forced to use your tools for far too long at an expense that isn't justified or warranted you have 90 days to show your appreciation for being your victim, and offering something much more compatible to my future than what your business model and product line are currently offering.
P.S. To the 2nd grade dropout who will undoubtedly be confused as to where this is stemming from. Today I wanted to create a PDF resume + portfolio to apply to a job that popped up in my FB feed. After finding a template I liked in the wild it brought me back to your Adobe stock warehouse where I was prompted to sign up for 30 day trial membership. What your 2nd-grade dropout supervisor fails to understand is that a large portion of designs require at least 10 elements to them. So for you to offer me ANOTHER MONTHLY fee-based subscription-based package that only lets me use 10 design elements a month-- is a pathetically absurd predatory monetization technique towards the very community you say you support!!!
10 elements for a monthly fee????? NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! I could not be more done with you, and my frustration can not wait to unleash my wrath at the reply you choose to defend this bad behavior!!!
