I started my billing support chat at 1:36pm from where I live... went in circles with the ridiculous AI bot as usual because AI doesn't like clients actually speaking to real people. I finally get an agent on the chat that clearly skipped typing class... and she's unable to call me 'for some reason' but 15-20 minutes later she can... that was established at 1:54PM after watching her type ... with nothing more than an intro she likely copied and pasted into the chat window... by 2:04PM after asking if she can escalte this she replies that a manager will contact me in 1 hour... honest to gawd when the hell did the computer industry fall apart like this? I'm SO glad I don't have to admit I'm any part of this foolishness after serving my 3 decades...
I'm speechless...

It's part and parcel with my post from the other day regarding my billing - my bank location, my physical location and my need to have my 3 apple devices which are all linked but using different apple IDs all connected to show my location / region as to where my bank is located so that I can make purchases on the App Store ... I literally have to change that region to where my bank is located because of Adobe's billing system... so I'm trying to speak with someone on the telephone so that I'm not spending my day typing what I can say in moments.
I respect that people need to learn things like being able to type...l but don't go apply for a job working on a tech support chat line if you can't type... I've been experiencing 'this' sort of thing all over the computer industry... last summer I had to deal with Microsoft's tech support staff... and they barely understand systems... asking me to perform admin tasks on the account that are simply impossible because they are features that a client would never have the ability to perform. They can't perform those tasks as employees (and they're not blocked from viewing all of the data on the account - so it's not about privacy - it's about 'there is no option' for them nor me. I had to explain the basics of binary to several of them so they could understand the concept of system functionality being yes / no - true / fasle - possible / impossible...
The person that took about 30 minutes to type her reply that a manager was going to call me in an hour was followed by an email telling me they're going to call me tomorrow at a specific time. I don't know what I'm going to be doing at that time. I sleep when I can, I wake when I do. I was almost asleep finally by 10pm last night only to be woken by a neighbor ... finally got to sleep at 2am and woke at 12:30pm... I don't make plans with anyone because I can't... with my nerve damage and spinal issues I never know 'when' my day is going to start or end, whether it's going to take me 20 minutes to put my underwear and shorts or... or sit at my desk for more than 10-15 minutes at a time... some days are 'less tragic' feeling but I'm burning time during moments I am capable ... for absolute foolishness. Who cares where I live? If my banking info matches up with what I enter into the system why should it matter? Why would I pay double to use a product because I my computer says I live in one country but actually live in another? There have been applications that I've been using and selling to clients for at least 2 decades that would not sell me their product because of my location. After speaking with a manager they asked me to send them a copy of my passport or other gov't ID so they would permit the sale... that request almost immediately after me 'accepting their terms and service' which basically stated they have permission to share all of my info with their affiliates... this is a security company ... that is going to share my info with everyone? NO thank YOU... chao... lmao... I wish I was laughing because it's actually funny...but 'this' is what has come to be the computer industry. I stopped even helping family members fix their machines back in 2014 I think it was when 'extra ware' as I call it was being loaded into installers. A lot of this 'extra ware' was one form of malware or another ... and they prompts to install it or elect not to install it were often worded slightly 'tricky' so that 9 newbies out of 10 would install it because they didn't read the wording... it's tiring... my life is sufficiently difficult as it is... i don't need the extras ...
