Adobe Cloud syncing in wrong file format

Hi all,

I've been encountering a problem recently with the way some of my files sync to the "your work" cloud service. It's only been happening on the last few files I've uploaded, and essentially, the problem is that I'll upload an MP3 or MP4 and it shows up in the cloud as an MP2 or OCTET file, respectively. This has not to me happpened before. Does it have to do with the file size? I also can't preview it in the app or online, but will it convert back to the original file once shared and downloaded by someone else?

Thanks so much.

Happens to me too. Sent an audio file to a friend so she could stream off the cloud (they way it would work if I had uploaded the same file to Google Cloud), but no... my MP3 is displayed on Adobe Cloud as MP2. Workarond is to download and play locally. When downloaded ... it is an MP3 again. What gives?? (Oh and on the mobile layout the download option is hidden... not user friendly on both counts Adobe.)

Hey there,

It could be related to file size, the file being damaged in some way, or the type of encoding used. MP2 sounds like it might be misinterpreting the file content. OCTET typically appears when it is not able to recognize the file type. If you have a example(s) files you can share, I can pass them on to our developers.

Thanks,

Dave

Hi Dave,

The file is a 2 hr radio show I host. It is a 110mb mp3 file at 190k, so...
not huge. I uploaded two files, same size.

The two files are here.
https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/e5b0d711-47c7-4035-7473-2f2fc8eff28a
https://shared-assets.adobe.com/link/4a0f05c6-d4ce-4d62-4f1f-681e1c617268

As far as the file being damaged, it is not. Because I can select
"Download" and seconds later the supposed MP2 arrives as an MP3, the exact
clone as what I uploaded to Creative Cloud.

Screen grabs of Adobe labeling the MP3 as MP2 are attached.

This is not an earth shattering crisis... just curious why Adobe seems to
temporarily change the format.

The recipient should have been able to click on the file icon and stream
the audio right? Workaround was downloading to her phone, although with the
download option hidden on her mobile device, it was not apparent.

Thanks for the speedy response.
