I bought an ebook in an online store. I can only download the .ACSM-file, which I then should open with Adobe Digital Edtions to access the .epub file.
But this is not working. Every time I try to open the .ACSM-file, ADE crashes.
I have already uninstalled and re-installed ADE and I use the latest version.
I have also un-autorised my PC and re-autorised it again.
I use Windows 10 64-bit.
First you should check if can donwload other file. Sometimes it is a problem with the server of the eBook Server. If this álso not work try to start with run as admin or a older version of ade.

Tx. There I can find ADE v3.0. (but not v4 or v5.0). But I found the ADE 4.0 installer on my PC.

But I think the issue is something with the .acsm-file or maybe there is a problem with the server of the eBook.
Because I could download other files, and that worked well.

Then you should ask your eBook reader to check server or ebook.

Yes, I have done so. (not the eBook reader, but the eBook seller )

I contacted the seller, and they told me to install Kobo desktop app, instead of ADE. So I did. And for some reason, I can indeed read this ebook with Kobo, but still not with ADE. I wonder why this is?

Seems Kobo need his own program.

Probably. Although I did not buy the book from Kobo, but from Bol.com, but maybe it still was a Kobo book?
But I can read it, that's the most important thing

It doesn't. I buy all my ebooks from Kobo and DRE normally doesn't have a problem with .epub or .acsm

Is there a way to detect if the .acsm-file is damaged? Of if there is a problem with the server of the eBook?

Mine worked when I chose to download the book as a pdf. This option was available on my library's website. It still crashes every time when I try to download the acsm file as an EPUB.
