I've had no end of trouble downloading books from the public library on to my Kobo e-reader. I tried uninstalling Adobe Digital Editions 4.3 and reloading ADE 3.0 as someone suggested that might work. I keep getting error messages. I'm a senior and find it impossible to navigate Adobe's website looking for help. Keep going in circles and not solving my problem. Does anyone have any idea how to once and for all make ADE work on Windows 10 to download from public library?

Hi lyndad84818861,
Have you tried un-authorizing & re-authorizing your device.
Let me move this thread to the correct forum Adobe Digital Editions.

Aadesh

The problem started about 3 months ago despite successfully downloading books previously. I have tried many books without success. Here's the message I get:
Adobe Acrobat Reader DC could not open (my book's name) because it is either not a supported file type of because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an e-mail attachment and wasn't correctly decoded).
I do not open the file from the e-mail notification I receive that the book is available - I go back to the library's website and download from my account/library card.
I operate on Windows 10. What is the optimal combination of software/versions I should be using ADE 3.0 or 4.3, 4.8?
I've tried reinstalling everything including Kobo software. Still doesn't work.

To open eBooks used Digital Edition. Adobe Reader is a program to open PDFs.
Start Digital Edition. Go to File > add to library. Choose the download file.
