Error getting license. License server communication problem: E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USE

I need to deactivate my old Adobe ID in the Digital Editions Software, but Adobe says go to Help> deactivate within the software. There is no such facility in ADE. How do I do this? The previous answers in the forum do not give clear direction. Thanks,

Deactivate a PC with Digital Editions 1.x:

1. Launch Digital Editions 1.x

2. Enter the key-combination of Ctrl-Shift-D (cmd-shift-D on Mac OS)

3. At the dialog, confirm that you wish to de-activate the machine

4. Quit Digital Editions
