Hi everyone.
Maybe someone got a hint for this:
I created a bottle in Illustrator, exported it as an obj and imported it in Dimensions. When placing a high resolution png graphic on it the rendering is generated in a low resolution (the preview is also pixelated).
When I place the same png on a cylinder or a bottle taken from the standard 3D models of Dimensons the rendering and the preview is perfect.
After hours of futile attempts with various model scales, recreations and graphic adjustments, I have not found a solution. What do I need to change?

To bypass these problem use apps that can export Polygon Geometry Only: Dimension supports only polygonal meshes. It does not support NURBS or curve-based geometry. IMHO that can be a solution. In the range of Adobe products you can try Adobe Substance 3D Modeler. (only for WIn).

Try to Generate UVs for imported object from ilustrator... then place decal.

Polygon Geometry Only: Dimension supports only polygonal meshes. It does not support NURBS or curve-based geometry.

Imported Meshes: You can import external 3D models in formats like .OBJ

Thanks for the input.
I tried to import the Illustrator generated obj in blender to generate a polygon-based mesh structure but it failed. Dimension can import the generated obj and stl but the graphic still couldn´t be palced in high resolution.
Maybe there is a way to generate polygon-based mesh structure in Illustrator?

No, it not possible unfortunately. You can try to export different formats 3D files from Illustrator but not customize mesh. One of the solutions is to export PSD file from Dn and correct resolution of rendered image.

I have now circumvented the problem by using the standard ‘cone’ model to curve the label in high resolution in the appropriate view and inserting it using Photoshop.
However, the question remains:
Which app can be used to create an obj file that is completely suitable for Dimension?
