Acrobat DC: How do you open a document to edit?

I down loaded the Acrobat DC. I am not a computer Einstein and I need to find out how I get the icon on my desk, then how to open a file? Thanks.

did you purchase or subscribe to acrobat dc or are you using a trial?

Using a trial to see if I can understand and use it. I have gotten Editable PDF files before, but I have never converted one to editable.

open the pdf you want to edit > click edit PDF using the toolbar on the right.

Therein lies part of my problem. When I open the file it opens in the read only PDF. I am looking for the DC download to create an Icon and open the program to open the file. Thanks.

So have you installed the Reader or the full version?
