Activating Adobe CS6 design standard.

Hi.
I need help activating Adobe CS6 design standard (activated by serial number). One of the computers with Adobe installed crashed, and now I'm faced with an error on my new computer: the number of activations has been exceeded. On the page with activated devices it says that I do not have activated devices. Accordingly, I cannot deactivate the device. Chat is useless. If I type "agent", the bot will say that I have no active plans and therefore cannot talk to an agent.

there are 2 ways to contact adobe; chat and twitter (now x):

chat:
use a browser that allows popups and cookies

in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.

p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.

So, resetting the device didn't work, the chat bot didn't help. On Twitter I got a reply that "Adobe CS6 has already been phased out; you can check out for promotions..." and "Sorry, but there is very little we can do to help you here"

you have no other ways to reset your activation count other than what's been covered.

Problem solved. I replaced the burnt out power supply in my old computer (lucky I didn't throw it away). I was also lucky that the hard drive had not yet been formatted. I then solved the problem of supporting the necessary protocols for Windows 7. I was then able to deactivate the product.

Glad you were able to get this resolved. It's not always possible or easy to do fix an old unit, but doing what you did may allow you to run the old software for a period longer. It's always worth noting that future operating systems could eventually break the software when you replace a computer so if you are intent on continuing to use it. For instance on the Mac side this is no longer possible as CS6 is 32-bit and Mac's have gone 64-bit only for awhile. It may be  worth keeping your copy of Windows 7 and older operating systems to install a virtual machine down the road if you wish to continue using CS6 as this is also a possibility with future Windows updates.

you'll probably find offline activation is needed:

disconnect the installed computer from the internet

Launch the product.

At the Serial Number Validation screen, click Having Trouble Connecting To The Internet.

Click Offline Activation and click Generate a Response Code.

Write down the Request Code.

Switch to an online computer and navigate to www.adobe.com/go/getactivated.

Click Offline Activation.

Sign in with your Adobe ID.

Enter your Request code and click Generate.

Write down the Response code.

Switch back to the offline computer.

Enter the Response Code and click Activate.

On Windows 11, the activation went through without a hitch. Now it is important not to forget to deactivate cs6 when reinstalling the operating system. Support wrote: "Unfortunately, we can't reset the activation counter".

That is too bad that Adobe has stopped the last bit of support for that old product

Thank you so much for the detailed instructions on how to perform an offline activation. They worked! Adobe doesn't make it easy because the request code is 44 characters in blocks of 4 separated by a space, but you have to remove the space. The response code is the same, but you can leave the spaces in. With the default font on Adobe, I couldn't differentiate a small letter L from a capital i, so I had to copy paste the codes into an app where I could change the font and read the letters. It was worth the effort though!
