Activation Adobe Acrobat XI standard limit reached

I need help to re-activate my version of Adobe Acrobat XI Standard.

After changing the computers, I've tried to switch the serial numbers to the new machine.

At first, I deactivated the license on the old machine, using the "Deactivate-Button", kindly provided by Acrobat.

After typing in the serial number at the new machine; I got the message that the serial number is already in use by some machines and I should deactivate the program on those machines.

There are no other machines running Acrobat XI and my once working license has vanished into thin air.

Any advice would be helpful

the acrobat on your "deactivated" computer was probably not able to reach adobe's servers and register its deactivation there.

ie, there's not going to be an easy way to debug/solve this unless the activation is shown in your account, https://account.adobe.com

if it's shown there, deactivate it there.  otherwise, it will require a lot of trial-and-error  to try to find why you can't connect with the deactivation server.
