I am trying to Install Adobe Air on Windows 7 (64bit) to use with HTC Sync, but get the following error: "An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator." This is a personal laptop and there is no administrator. Please help!

  • The Logitech Video driver (LVPrcSrv.exe) is known to cause issues with the installation of Adobe AIR. If the application is loaded, end the process by selecting it from the Windows Task Manager.
  • Verify that your operating system has the latest Microsoft Windows Service Packs and updates installed, including updates for Microsoft Windows Installer.
  • Microsoft for Windows Installer update/hotfix. There was an issue with Microsoft Windows Installer that affected AIR installations.

I tried these in both User and Administrator loggins:

  • The Logitech Video driver (LVPrcSrv.exe) does not show on Processes
  • Ran Windows Update and nothing is available
  • All of the links are for Windoes XP and I am on Windows 7...for any that had links or instructions for Windows 7, I followed them with no luck.
  • The Microsoft for Windows Installer update/hotfix appears to not apply to 7; just for Windows 6, Server and XP...I searched for one for 7 and nothng was found.

Go to User/yourname/AppData/Roaming/Adobe/Air and just double click. If you cannot gain access then a window will open and I managed to change permissions to my user name.. alot messing about but Air has to access this when you 'agree' with its EULA when it opens after starting Adobe Story or HTC Sync. It's Windows over doing it on the security bit. All apps should work with air after that.
