Adobe Application Manager not working correctly

I've recently had to re-install my copy of Production Premium CS 5.5 (windows 7/64 bit) from the DVD set; since then I noticed that the interface for Adobe Application Manager seems to have changed. It currently looks like this:

aam.png

where I would expect it to look like this:

adobe-application-manager-02.png

In addition, when I click on the "preferences" or "about" button, nothing happens and when I click on the "check again" icon, the updater seems to get stuck in a loop. I believe all applications are in fact up to date, but the Application Manager application itself doesn't seem to work correctly and looks different from what I would expect. What's going on? Please advise.

P.S. Explorer gives the Application Manager executable (PDapp.exe) file version as 6.0.196.0.

Hi,

The application manager would display contents as in the second screen shot if there are any updates available for installed Adobe applications. Hence the update button at the bottom right of the dialog.

You have the recommended version of the application manager installed.

Have you tried launching the manager from the .exe file and then clicking on preferences?

Hi Gautham, what about the interface itself though? I see a white dialog box similar to the one on the top, instead of something similar to this...

adobe-application-manager-01.png

.. which is what I remember it looking like before I re-installed CS5.5. Plus, the buttons on that white interface do not work and there's no "Quit" button, for example -- I have to click on the to dismiss it. It makes me wonder if it's not installed correctly.. I get the same results when I try to launch PDapp.exe directly instead of through an Update menu in one of the applications.

Hello,

We're experiencing a similar problem here. The Application Manager updated itself to become the new white version. This then requires an Adobe ID before it will allow us to continue, and when we input our Adobe ID (which we have now verified with Adobe has our volume licenses linked to it) all we are offered is CS6 trial versions instead of CS5.5 updates. Before the latest Application Manager update, the grey dialog with the update list as pictured above is what we would have expected to receive. Manually downloading updates from the Adobe web site and attempting to install those does not work either.

Thanks,

Adobe have now told me in a tweet from their @Adobe_Care support account (https://twitter.com/Adobe_Care/status/277098803352461313) that updates for CS5.5 now require AAMEE.
