Hi,

Can a forum admin please send feedback to Adobe directly. Please be advised that having the Creative Cloud app completely exited (including from the system tray) does not constitute being completely closed, and it will decide to go ahead and start installing updates without any consent, at a random time, hours after Creative Cloud App is closed.

That's a pretty unfortunate software issue, especially given how Adobe's updates pull from the servers in such an aggressive way (similar to the way Steam pulls game downloads, although with them, their software needs to be running for the installs to occur) that it often impacts a network.

I would like to prevent this from happening. Please advise your recommended steps. I will follow, and advise further.

Adobe Installer, Adobe Update Service (Windows), and "com.adobe.acc.installer.v2" (macOS)

Adobe Installer, Adobe Update Service (Windows), and com.adobe.acc.installer.v2 (macOS) all manage the privileges required for various actions like installing app updates, and syncing fonts. Adobe Update Service is a Windows-specific process, while com.adobe.acc.installer.v2 is specific to macOS only. These processes ensure that you are not prompted for your system password each time you try to sync fonts, or install or update your apps.

p.s. if you don't want auto-updates, disable them in the cc app file>preferences>apps
