This alert is not malware; it is from Adobe informing you that they have detected non-genuine software on your computer and you have ten days to resolve the issue before they block Photoshop on your computer.
The volunteers on this forum cannot see your account information and cannot assist. You need to contact Adobe Customer Care.
You can use the chat button in the alert or you can try the link to auto-open the Chat:
https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
Type "agent"
If your browser blocks the Chat window, try the troubleshooting tips here:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/creative-cloud-services/how-to-contact-adobe-support/td-p/11875703
You can also send a post through X (formerly Twitter) to @AdobeCare.
Do not reply to PMs, which are likely to be scammers.
Before Adobe shuts you down, can you go to Help > System Info > Copy and then paste the entire contents into a reply window in this thread?
- Did you purchase directly from Adobe?
- If not, then who? And did you register your software?
- Was it the Creative Cloud Version or the perpetual license version of CS6?
- Do you have the license number and receipt?
- When you go to https://account.adobe.com/ and sign in with your Adobe ID and PW, what do you see in the navbar across the top?

It's not malware; it's from Adobe warning you that after the 10-day grace period they will block Photoshop on your computer.
Can you go to Help > System Info > Copy and then paste the entire contents into a reply window in this thread? And answer the other questions?
What did Adobe Customer Care say when you contacted them?

Another question to add to Jane's:
When you purchased was it a student/educational license? If so, are you still a member of that educational institution?

Die Lizens für die Studentenversion hat kein verfallsdatum, Ich kann die auch Gewerblich nutzen, darum habe ich die ja auch gekauft.

You can use it commercially, but you can not use it after you have left the educational institution that qualified you for the license. An educational license is only valid while you are in fact under education.
Think about it and I'm sure you see the logic here.
In other words, the message is real and legitimate.

That is useful Jane - thanks
That means that the only route for the poster of the issue is to contact Adobe directly. No-one in the community forum can resolve this.

So I was wrong on this. Thanks to Jane for stepping in and putting the record straight 🙂 I'll check my facts better next time. But anyway, as Dave says, contact Adobe for this.

@jane-e educational licenses can be confusing, and some schools offered expiring licenses to Creative Suite 6 to help reduce costs. I don't think that is the case for @Mystic-Stone, but your advice about contacting us was spot on.
Only the Adobe Genuine team can validate the license and remove the Adobe Genuine Software message. They aren't active in the Community or Social Media. Still, you can see my advice above regarding the fastest way to reach them, which is to click the Contact Us button in the Adobe Genuine Software dialog box itself. Please don't hesitate to refer anyone with similar questions to https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/adobe-genuine-notifications.html and move the discussion to the Download and Install Community.

Thanks for replying here, @Jeffrey_A_Wright . The rules changed when we switched from CS to CC and many have forgotten how it was then. I remember because I taught Adobe software at the community college and learned about it from my students.
ProDesign Tools has an article written in 2014.

So What’s Different with the Adobe Education Versions?
Since Creative Suite 5, all Student and Teacher Editions can be utilized for personal as well as commercial use, for all academic customers worldwide. So yes, you can sell your services or anything you create, or use these products in developing a side business or online venture. And after graduation or completion of coursework, you can continue to use any perpetual software on your personal systems; there is no usage expiration and those tools will continue to work.
Being a Educational License in and of itself does not make CS6 non-genuine, of course. I'm sure pirated copies were sold as well and Adobe Customer Care has to be contacted.
We're seeing a lot of similar posts and many have told us they have an older OS and computer that will not run current versions.

I received the same Pop Up as shown in the opening post. The only Adobe product I have on my computer is Adobe Acrobat Pro (download version) which I bought and registered with Adobe when I bought my computer 4 years ago. My Adobe account still shows the registration and I have never uninstalled the product from my computer. Why am I getting the pop up notification now after all these years? How do I help Adobe resolve its error so it does not disable Adobe Acrobat Pro from my computer. The virtual chat was not useful for this issue. Thank you.

contact adobe support to discuss. there are 2 ways to contact adobe; chat and twitter (now x):
chat:
if you have or want to purchase a subscription, use a browser that allows popups and cookies
and click here, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html?rghtup=autoOpen
in the chat field (lower right), type AGENT
be patient, it can take quite a while to reach a human.
twitter/x:
tweet @AdobeCare
p.s. if you're contacted by anyone (via email or private message), it's much more likely to be a scammer than an adobe representative.

I called the 800 number one of you provided. It was a bit difficult getting to a human but once the right person came on the call, he was very helpful and took care of the problem.

They asked me to delete some Adobe program folder from my computer and then offered to migrate me to their subscription service for a discounted price. I hardly ever use Adobe Acrobat Pro and so am happy continuing with the downloaded version. As a matter of personal discipline, I do not do any subscription models. All the software on my computer is a download version. I would rather pay for things upfront or do not buy it.

Just an FYI - I do not plan to log into my Adobe account again.
The Adobe representative also said next version of Acrobat will likely not be available as a download version and will be available only as a subscription model. My guess is they will have a download version but they will make it very prohibitively expensive to push users to the subscription model. If that happens, I will stop using it as I currently do not use it much at all - I do not recall when I used it last.

do you already have (safely stored) any installation file you might need in the future?
