After Effects CS2 encountering error when installing

New Here ,
Aug 26, 2014 Aug 26, 2014

I recently got After Effects CS2, because it was free. When I installed it on my up-to-date Macbook Pro, it said that an error was encountered, and the installation stopped suddenly. What happened?

It's OS X 10.9.4 I'm guessing I can't use CS2 with that?

Hi Questhero101,

You are correct with this. CS 2 was never tested with Mac OS 10.9.4, you can post screenshot of the error message so that we can check if there is we can do to help you with this.

My suggestion would be to use creative cloud version on you machine, it should work perfectly fine. you can certainly download the trial version using below mentioned link.

Thanks,

Screenshot 2014-08-26 17.31.27.pngI'm not sure what you mean by screenshot, but okay. I kinda don't wanna use free trial, because I want something that I can use forever. If there's something I can do to get After Effects free with my OS forever, please let me know.

There is no free version of After Effects. Even CS2 is not free. It's for those who have already purchased CS2 and still have the hardware and operating system to run it.

For your Mac, you can either purchase CS6 outright or join the Cloud and pay the monthly fee.

Creative Suite 6

Any way you look at it, there's money involved.

Screenshots are rather pointless.

CS2 was written for old PowerPC based Macs. PowerPC code will not work on modern Intel-based Macs.

No way around that. No fixes, patches or workarounds. It just won't work.
