Can I install Audition 2.0?

New Here ,

Hi there.

What about Audition 2.0 (CS Production Suite Premium was delivered with that version)?

Is there any possibility to get that version installed again?

No CS1 products are offered.  Audition 3 is available if you own a license for it...

Hello Ned,

It was not CS1, but the "Creative Suite Production Studio" (sorry for the mistake in my first post!), which was a "variant" of the CS2 (most applications are overlapping with CS2). It also includes Audition CS2.

Apart from this package, Audition was only part of the Creative Suite for CS5.5 and later (as far as I know). I also do not own a standalone Audition CS3 license.

I'd prefer to stay with CS2 anyway...

So now I'm a little confused... seems like Audition CS2 (as part of the Production Studio as well as standalone version) was forgotten here?

Florianix all of the software titles affected by the activation server shut down are listed in the original post of this discussion at Activation server shut down for Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, and Macromedia products .  Audition 2.0 is not listed because it was not affected by the activation server shut down.

If you own a copy of Audition 2.0 you will want to utilize your original installation files and serial number to install the software.  If you are receiving a specific error message when installing Audition 2.0 then please start a new discussion in the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum.

Hi Jeff,

now I'm even more confused:

the list in the original post does list the "Production Studio Premium" (last point of that list).

Audition 2.0 is a part of it.

I didn't test the re-installation/activation of Audition yet, as I didn't expect that Audition CS2 was not affected by the server shutdown, while the newer CS3 is affected.

I'd like to be sure that I can reactivate it, as the re-installation will destroy the current installation.

Branching to a new discussion.

Florianix please try reinstalling Audition 2.0 and update this discussion with any relevant errors you receive.

Creative Suite 3 is not affected by the activation server shut down and utilizes the same activation technology utilized by Creative Cloud memberships.

Jeff,

sorry, but I believe there is a misunderstanding here, as the statements in that thread seem contradicting to the original Adobe statement.

- You stated that "all of the software titles affected by the activation server shut down are listed in the original post of this discussion at Activation server shut down for Creative Suite 2, Acrobat 7, and Macromedia products".

- That list includes all CS2 generation products. Also The Production Studio Premium which includes Audition 2.0 (both are "CS2 generation" both by age and look- so both sharing the same activation server seems very logical).

The statement there is that they ARE affected by the server shutdown and can NOT be reactivated.

So are you really sure this is wrong and Audition 2.0 is not affected?

My point was not about CS3. Although it is surprising the newer Audition version is affected, while the previous one is not (being the complete opposite of all other applications - and also to CS2 generation products).

Sorry to bug you again, but I need to be sure before reinstalling, because I don't want to risk the existing installation, based on the assumption the original statement from Adobe is wrong!

Florianix Production Studio Premium included Audition 3.0.  If you need the serial number and download for Audition 3.0 it is available at Download Adobe Acrobat 7 and Adobe Creative Suite 2 products .

If you are wanting to install Audition 2.0 then you will want to utilize your original installation files and the serial number you were provided.  You can find details on how to locate your registered serial numbers at Find your Adobe product serial number quickly..

Jeff, that is just not correct.

My Production Studio Premium was definitely delivered with Audition 2.0.

It's written on the original discs and the Audition handbook that came with it is also for version 2.0.

I'm absolutely sure about it and checked it again. Twice.

Maybe later versions were sold with Audition 3.0, but mine was definitely not.

*IF* the activation server for Audition 2.0 would still work, there would not be a problem for me,

but the information given in the other threads (the link you provided) is clear about it. It is in fact included in the list.

Also it's difficult to believe that Audition 2.0 should be the only application with its activation server still being intact - while all other applications (of the suite) and even newer/later versions (Audition 3.0) are affected.

Florianix if you have the Audition 2.0 CD then can you please install it on the computer and update this discussion with any error messages which you receive?

If you receive a message stating the activation server is not available then can you post a screen shot of the error?  You can find details on how to post a screen shot at FAQ: How do I capture and post a screen shot or video? .
