I said it all in the header. Is anyone out there???!!!! I've been going in circles on this useless site for 30 minutes.
Well, it seems that comodo firewall was blocking it somehow. I'm on chat with then and they don't seem to have a clue either. Photoshop opened without asking me to register so maybe it'll work now. Thx.

You are not likely to get phone help with CS3. You can try chat when the chat is open.
For the link below click the Still Need Help? option in the blue area at the bottom and choose the chat option...

Thx. I saw the the 'chat' but saw no indication they had 'hours.' Funny how they want our money... Looked at the link. Been there numerous times already. This site is a circle jerk.

Do any Adobe employees actually look at this????????????

I just got an email 'reply' that sent me to this page:
https://forums.adobe.com/collaboration/10939?et=notification.direct.message
Is this for real? Why would they ask for my skype no.? Is this just a bad English sales pitch from an over seas contractor for Adobe or is it spam bot scam?
Are there any human beings out there?????????????
Looks like Adobe has taken the road of the corporate mindset that usually kills corporations, putting B.S. before customers.

This is a user-to-user forum, so they are under no obligation to do so. However, in my experience, Adobe employees do occasionally pop their heads into some forums.

I'm a human! I can't help much, but I'm a human.
I can't see that link you posted - as it appears to be a direct message. Try posting a screenshot.
If you want help on these forums from people, sharing more information might also help. When you say that you can't get it to activate, what do you mean? What steps are you taking? What is happening in response to those steps? Are you getting error messages? If so, what is the text of those messages?
I mean, I don't have a copy of CS3 laying around the office to follow along (I mean, that's five versions ago!), but it's possible that some others here might. (I might actually have it at home though, now that I think about it. When I get home tonight, If I remember, I might give it a go)
I assume you've already gone through these steps from the Activation & Deactivation Help page:

Thanks, how silly of me to think Adobe might give a damn even if I'm not sending them money every month.
I'm trying to register CS3 as I've done several times but for some reason it's not going through. I'm really, really, to the 10th power pissed off that I can't find an adobe 'employee' or 'associate' or whatever they call their human resources to answer a few simple questions. That's ridiculous. Do they actually have a real 'customer service' page? And if so why is it so hard to find it?
I'm looking into the possibility that my firewall may be blocking registration...

I think Adobe does care. I don't see where I said that they don't. I'm sorry if I was unclear in what I said.

I thought somebody in this thread linked it. I found it very easily by going to the Menu on Adobe.com, choosing Learn & Support, clicking on Contact Support, then filling out the requested info (Software: After Effects, Issue: Installation, etc.)
See if this works: Contact Customer Care It may be different for me than it is in your country though. Where are you located?
Anyway, on my end, I followed those steps and got to clickable links that were for online chat or phone support.
And, as I mentioned previously, if you want help on these forums while you're waiting to find a way to talk to a human, some more info would really help us help you.

I went round in circles for several minutes with that useless crap last night and got no where, most importantly I got no one who could give me any kind of an answer at all. Is their customer service this hard to come by if you're sending them money every month?
thx

Waypasthadenough you are welcome to contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care. If you are not seeing the option to contact our support team then please utilize a different web browser. There is chat support available 24 hours a day 7 days a week depending upon the type of difficulty you are facing.
If you still face difficulties with a different web browser then you may want to look at the settings for any installed security software. If you do identify a conflict I would appreciate it if you please post the software title and version to this discussion.

Waypastthadeenough I am sorry you faced a difficult experience with the activation process. You are correct if a software firewall is preventing the Adobe software from communicating then it will not be possible to activate the software.
For future viewers of this discussion I would recommend reviewing the link offered by Szalam in message #5. It provides guidance regarding firewall and host file configuration errors.

I have just installed CS3 but there isn't an "Activate" button under Help. I am told the package had never been activated. Any thoughts appreciated.

Macromotorspot I would recommend reviewing post #7 by Szalam for information on how to resolve your activation errors.
