Here's a transcript from the web chat that I had with a support agent. i'm based in the UK.

Adobe's payment conditions lack transparency.

What I know for sure is the following:

Adobe uses various payment service providers.

For each country there are specific payment methods available. You will never know WHY.

For example, there are no standardized payment methods for the EU. In Germany direct debit is available, in Austria isn't. Some countries can use PayPal, some can't.

Remember your subscribing process: Was direct debit available? Is it now? If not - you can't change.

Thank you for this information. When subscribing I can't say that I saw the Direct debit method. I'll just need to continue to paying by Credit Card which is inconvenient for me now.

The ability to change this payment method would make things a lot easier for me!
