Using Mac OS 10.10.3 (latest updates installed) on a MacBook Pro retina (2014).

I've downloaded Creative Cloud and installed the software. But I tried to launch app, nothing happens. It wo n't launch. I've uninstalled and reinstalled. Won't launch. Started up in Safe Mode. Uninstalled and reinstalled. Won't launch. I paid for year's worth of Lightroom and Photoshop use, but now I can't even download the software. WTF?

This is an issue especially on Mac computers.

In this cases , you may try providing full permissions to both Libraries.

~/library and /library.

make sure that currently logged in user account and Administrator has Read and Write Privileges for Library.

Right click on Finder and select Go to Folder option.

You will get a textbox , type in as ~/library

(do not miss ~  symbol)

It will open Library.

on the view option for folder , click on 3'rd option .

then you will be able to see Library named option on th

I'm sorry to say but none of these operations changed anything in my case. Still get an error 5 window while trying to launch Lightroom and the splash screen appearing for 1/4 second then nothing.

And nothing in any log I found.

I've been trying everything I can, I think, from uninstalling of any Adobe application to delete/clean CC files with the Creative Cloud Cleaner tool, restarting everything each time, resetting permissions, changing them for both libraries etc..… nothing worked.

Though, for security purpose, I can't log in as root on my machine so I didn't try that. I only tried to launch Lightroom from a "su" terminal command… same behavior.

I hope Adobe support will give me some more clues, I have requests posted to the chatroom, we'll see.

My initial post here if you're on the same boat : LR6 CS upgrade from LR5 CS won't start

The meanwhile, I discovered that there is no real LR6 CS upgrade, only a CC version that you can serialize by entering your serial number. In fact, it looks like that it's the same bundle for any application, just the price changes varying on what you pay for.

Anyway, in my case, no luck.

plmegalo ,

In this case , you need to provide ' Read and Write '  access to  Adobe folder under /library/Application Support.

Please refer below link :  Applies for both Error 5 and 16

Configuration error | CC, CS

Actually you need to provide Full read and Write permissions to  Adobe PCD and SLStore.

If you provide full permission to Adobe folder itself and select select Apply to Enclosed Items , all the folders inside Adobe will have full permissions.

Thank you for this. I tried it and it did not work. I am extremely cautious about messing around with root users. This is super frustrating. What can I do now? I cannot use my apps.

1) Right click on Finder icon and  select "Go-To Folder"  option.
2) You will get a text box, type-in below command and then hit 'Return' key.

/library

It will open System Library.

In that locate folder named "Input Managers"   .

Open it and move all its contents to Desktop on to backup folder.

Make sure Input Manager folder is empty .

Then launch Adobe Creative Cloud application and check,.

Wow, Thank you Brucgovn!  I had the exact same issue.  I spent about 3 hours with adobe tech support remotely on my machine.  Also spent a couple hours trying every other fix suggested on the forums.  Your suggestion worked like a charm.  Thanks again!

Thank you, Brucgovn‌.  This solved it!  In may case, InputManagers/Cooliris was the culprit.

Re: providing full permissions to both Libraries, thank you for this fix to Adobe Cloud, very helpful. FYI to anyone else struggling with this issue: it takes a while for permissions to be applied. At first I thought it was not going to work, but it just took longer than expected so be patient. Worked like a charm.
