Hi,
I have a license key for the CS2 version of Audition which I would like to install on a new PC. Apparently the download is no longer available on the CS2 server so I'm told by an Adobe support tech, but by posting in this forum, someone, presumably from Adobe, should be able to help me out with a link and activation code.

I don't believe there ever was a version of Audition called CS2.
But, I will assume you actually mean Audition 3? If so, there used to be a method by which owners of AA3 could use their licence key to download a special version which did not require on-line registration. But that facility no longer exists, apparently.
OTOH, if you actually mean AA2, I don't think there's ever been a way to download it for several years, if at all.

Thanks for the reply. In fact it seems that I need to activate my Adobe Audition 3 version, but the activation server isn't available at this time. Phone activation is also unavailable, with the US freephone number the only one that still actually answers with a recorded message, saying to go to www.adobe.com/go/activation. Apparently a version that doesn't need an activation code needs to be donwloaded, except Audition isn't listed.

And that is the reason why I wrote above that facility no longer exists, apparently.
I don't know the reason but it seems there was some legal problem in keeping that downloadable version available.

If you look at the Audition 3 page in the FAQs here: Audition 3 and the activation service (which for some reason is marked as outdated, although actually the update to it isn't) you will find in it a link to this page: Changes to Creative Cloud Download Availability | Adobe Blog which states Adobe's official position on this. I'm not allowed to talk about the background to this; all I can tell you is that the legal team is behind it.

Hi Mark,
Thanks for reaching out. I understand your concern. As per the changes mentioned in the blog: Changes to Creative Cloud Download Availability | Adobe Blog , any version other than the two most recent major versions of Creative Cloud applications will not be available for download.
However, to help you in the best possible way I am moving this thread to our download and install community. We have our experts there who may provide you an alternative(if available).
Thanks,
Shivangi
