My new Mac will no longer support 32-bit technology at the nwxt update. Current version is Mojave. My CS4 is the only app that still has not updated to 64-bit. Is this an issue with CS4? Is it no longer supported? I have some plug-ins that did not get transferred to this new Mac and don't want to address that issue until I have a photoshop version updated.

I've moved this from the Using the Community forum (which is the forum for issues using the forums) to the Download and Install forum.

CS6 and earlier do not work with Catalina... and CS6 and earlier are no longer supported or updated

You now have 2 choices if you must have Catalina

1 - Photography subscription https://creative.adobe.com/plans

Special Photography Plan includes Photoshop & Lightroom & Bridge & Mobile Lightroom

- Photoshop Elements for a 1 time fee http://www.adobe.com/products/elements-family.html

There will be no updates. CS4 was replaced by CS5 over 10 years ago. If you want to keep running this old (and excellent) software you must freeze the system and can never run it on a new Mac.

To be more precise, Flash content is a dead technology.  Browsers don't support it.  Adobe discontinued Flash Player more than year ago.  Long before that, Shockwave player was discontinued.  Nobody can access Flash / SWF content anymore.

For creating 2D animations, games, etc... switch to Adobe Animate CC which uses modern technologies like HTML5 canvas & WebGL.

It's 2020 and this is where things stand right now.  CS1, CS2 and CS3 are dead & gone. The activation servers were removed from service years ago. Even if you find an installer, it's impossible to activate the software.

CS4, CS5 and CS6 are on life support. But they can still be activated providing you have the following:
1. original media (disks or downloads) you received at purchase and a way to read them,
2. a legitimate serial number for that version, language and platform (Win/Mac),
3. an older operating system that can support legacy 32-bit apps.
--------------------------
NOTE 1 : Creative Suite installers won't work on macOS Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave without terminal workarounds. See the help article below.
https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/install-creative-suite-mac-os-sierra.html

NOTE 2: Creative Suite cannot run on Catalina. Either downgrade your OS, set-up a virtual machine or get all new, 64-bit software. Your choice. https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/plans.html

NOTE 3: Legacy Creative Suite is discontinued & unsupported. Use at your own risk.
