They tell me I can upgrade or find a download site that someone may have for CS5... I do not have the $795 to upgrade. (The CS5 download is no longer available.)

Go to Adobe and log in... Your download order history will have a link so you may download again (according to what I have read in other messages)
If you did not purchase via download before, you will need to contact Adobe (this is a user to user forum, not Adobe support) to find out if they will be able to give you a link

I found a download, through Adobe, for cs5... My understanding from reading, is that you will be given the opportunity after download to provide your product serial number (opening up the entire program to you). I find it safer to download directly from the company, than a second or third party that could possibly note your product serial number and cause future issues. Hope this helps. Will return with a comment after download if it worked and opened up full program after entering my p.s.n...

This information is incorrect. I also know these are fairy old posts, but this is more accurate instructions.
There is no Direct Link that functions anymore for this. Older software like CS5 Design Premium you will need to log into your account, have the registration information and product/license key available, along where and when it was registered to you and contact a representative via the chat.
The first agent will ask for your license key, and for faster service be sure to have your email information and what country you registered the product in available. This billing agent will transfer you to a tech support agent. Once you can verify this, they will provide you a temporary link as trial software for this version that you specify for Windows or for MAC.
Once both the Application and Archivator files are downloaded, as you need both, they ask you remain connected to chat and start the installation process in case there are any errors, which is highly recommended if you don't know how to trouble-shoot them yourself.
It's really that simple. Time consuming yes, but simple.
Also contrary to the usual information, you do not actually need Acrobat 9 for this software but it is all the same process if you must secure it, but its likely the Acrobat 9 wont actually work correctly on such as Windows 10 because its too far behind and no longer supported for updates (which is true for all such software that is this old).
You need the license keys. Period. No company will give you such simply because it happened to be on your computer when you got it. This is also why you should ALWAYS regsister your products in case this happens. Pre-installed software tends to all be trial junk (junk-ware is what its called literally for that reason).
This I have personally verified not more than 15 minutes ago before this post (December 2019), after finding that the links are no longer available and loops you back to other versions.
Be grateful of the tech support at Adobe can assist you as instructed here because as I have said before, they really do not and are not required to provide this assistance. Yet, because they do and are able to help in this way at this time, unlike so many other companies around, it just makes Adobe that much more awesome! Good luck all.
