CS5 Master Collection Install Issue

Community Beginner ,
Nov 16, 2023 Nov 16, 2023

I recently got a new machine with Windows 11 and I'm going through the painstaink process of moving 8 years worth of data and programs over.

I'm finaly over to CS5, and it installed without any issues, but I goofed on something else and had to restore the computer to before the install of CS5.

For whatever reason when I try to reinstall it just wants to give me issues.

I've tried clearinging out old folders left over from the install that for whatever reason stayed.

I've tried restoring it again and going to a backup.

I tried using an uninstaller and cleaner program to make sure it was scrubbed.

I used the Cleanupscript program I tried hunting down what elements I could find that were adobe in the registry that I dared to remove manually.

I even went so far as to dig into my old machines harddrive and tried to drag and drop the files in the same location and checking that the paths were the same.

NOTHING IS WORKING!!!!!!!!!

One error it keeps yelling is that the OS isn't supported, but I know that isn't right because IT WAS WORKING BEFORE the system restore.

If anyone can tell me what exactly I need to do to get this to install properly again I would really appriciate it.

I've included the log and the listed errors from the install.

Please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what you mean.
But I've "Run As Admin", if that is what you mean.
Same results and same errors.

I have already tried ALL the basic troubleshooting.

And I cant uninstall something I can't install again for some reason.

And I'm hitting my head against a wall.

Please read the logs I posted and before posting anything, I'm looking for viable solution or theorry of the problem.

Not a guess and "did you try to restarting the machine".

Do you have Windows 11 install media... such as a DVD? (if not see below)
Create a Win11 install DVD - mine required a dual layer DVD from ISO
-according to this page you may create a bootable USB to install
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11
Select the option you need... you WILL need your product key

As painful as it may be, what you MAY need to do is wipe your drive and start over

I have never used a Windows restore... due to reading other messages about failures
The product I bought and use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Note that I get NO benefit if you buy the program, I only use it and like what it does

Image runs off of a bootable CD or USB Flash Drive via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the CD or USB, program uses less than 1Gig) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may not only restore the image over a messed up install, you may restore to a brand new drive in case of a hardware crash, and not have to re-install anything

I have actually used Image to do a restore ONCE when a failed install/uninstall made a MESS of the Windows Registry that I could not fix... restoring from my pre-problem Image file fixed the problem

I'm kinda hoping to avoid that. I only have a small window that get this thing usable before I have to go back to work.

I don't want to have to wipe this thing after just getting it squared away, especially for one program.

If I have to bite my lip and do it if there is no other options, I'll have to think about it and plan it.....

But I'm hoping there are other options that are more viable.

I tried again, it failed to install but Photoshop is installed but it's not installed, it's not showing up under installed programs or under CS5.

I don't know how or why but Photoshop is working.....I'm not going to question it, just glad something is working.

Indesign is says "Missing required System fonts or CMaps files" Reinstall.

Illistrator, "Has detected a problem in the windows registry and neds to be corrected for illustrator to work properly."
It gives the option "Do you want to correct to fix", I click yes and it fails everytime.

Again, Indesign and and Illustrator don't show up but THEY ARE THERE and there are shortcuts....
Not sure (cursing removed) is going on....

Any thoughts from anyone???

I don't know if this is still relevant to anyone but I had the same problem.

I reset Windows 11 using the reset function because I had to start from scratch. When I tried installing CS5 I got the same errors and not installing.

I downloaded the "Adobe CS5 Clean Tool". When you open make sure to right click CS5InstallerDatabaseUtility.exe and choose Run as Administrator. I then chose CS5 in the menu and then clean all.

Once that was done, I tried installing CS5 again and it installed with no errors 🙂

Hope this helps someone
