Hi,
I’m hoping that Adobe can help me.
I purchased the Adobe CS6 Design & Web Premium - Student & Teacher Edition (DOWNLOAD) MAC on 3/03/14 - from www.thinkedu.com.
Their order number was 118485, for $599.00/$37.50 tax for a total of $637.45, through my Mom's Credit Card and email address.
I installed the software, as I was authorized to on (1) Mac computer and (1) MacBook laptop.
Unfortunately, my laptop died recently. The Apple store could not retrieve/restore anything from the hard drive,
so I was forced to purchase a new MacPro Laptop (version Mac OS Sierra 10.12.1) to return to school.
I did try to directly download the software using the original link provided from www.thinkedu.com, but it is no longer working and states that the link is invalid now. When I contacted thinkedu.com, all they could tell me was that Adobe had discontinued the item in April 2014,(the month after I purchased it), and there is no access to the link anymore.
They stated I would need to make another purchase of a different bundle special being offered. I see that this would be on a yearly subscription basis, with the price going up substantially the following year. This made no sense to me.
As a student, I can not afford to repurchase programs, especially when I purchased the Adobe CS6 Bundle of Programs - Photoshop, Bridge, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Illustrator, InDesign, including (Widget Browser, Acrobat X Pro, Extension Manager, Media Encoder). I registered the products serial number that were licensed to me indefinitely for 2 computers.
There is no way for me to deactivate the software from my “dead” Macbook, so I may load it onto the new MacPro laptop with the original programs I purchased.
I’m hoping there is a way for me to install the programs I purchased to my new MacPro Laptop? Please advise as I need this for school ASAP.
I did send an email to Adobe technical support (tcssup@adobe.com) and basically was told “Phone/Email support is not available for Adobe CS6, only Chat/Forum support is available”. My email was forwarded to a different technical department, but no mention of whom…
From what I’ve been reading on the forums, lots of people are having similar issues with CS6. It doesn’t appear that Adobe is interested in helping. I’m hoping this is wrong…
Thank you,
Alanna C

CS6 and earlier programs have not been tested and will not be updated for Mac El Capitan/Sierra
-which means that you try to use CS6 and earlier at YOUR risk of having problems

Owners of old programs simply have problems with Mac El Capitan/Sierra... none of which is Adobe's fault... Adobe did not change your old program to make it stop working... Apple changed their operating system and THAT is why your old programs may not work, not because of anything Adobe did... Also... every time Apple issues an update, there is the risk that an old program that HAS been working will STOP working... bottom line, old programs require a matching old operating system

Alanna to add to John's response in message #1 I reviewed your serial number and I see no recent activation attempts. The last attempt was on Sept 6, 2014. You also have activations remaining for Design and Web Premium Creative Suite 6 for Mac OS.
Once you complete the installation workaround, offered in John's post, to install under macOS Sierra then you should be able to install and activate successfully. If you face any additional activation errors then see Activate and deactivate Adobe products for details on how to resolve the error.
