CS6 software serial number revoked?

My CS6 software that I bought in 2013 was genuine, but Adobe revoked the license a year ago because of the vendor I bought it from. Adobe claimed the vendor was not authorized. So, it’s a useless DVD. Funny thing is, many vendors still sell copies of CS6 online.

I’ll just have to eat the increase in price as a cost of doing business.

SO in reality you bought an illegal copy. Even legal copies sold by "unauthorized" vendors stay legal. All those vendors selling CS6 copies on-line are probably not very serious vendors and their copies they sell are at a high risk of revocation because the serials attached are not legit. I doubt that any vendor still has legal copies of CS6.

Not true, according to Adobe tech support. Because my serial number was revoked, I had no choice at the time but to upgrade to CC. It's OK now, as I now have thousands of files saved as CC and they sure won't open if I went back to CS6. I'm moving forward.

Adtypeanddesign, sorry you have faced errors while installing Creative Suite 6.  I only show an active Creative Cloud membership under your account.  Please make sure you are using a registered serial number when installing Creative Suite 6 using your perpetual license.  Information on how to locate any registered serial numbers can be found at Find your serial number .

Since you have a full Creative Cloud membership you can also install Creative Suite 6 versions of Adobe applications through the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application.  For details regarding the process see Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps .

Jeff, thanks for reaching out. I no longer have the CS6 disc and packaging because of what tech support told me a year ago. Besides, the serial number that came with it is revoked and is no good. I'm going to stay on CC until retirement, just a few years away.
