Download assistant not launching on a MacBook Pro

Hi there

I have just downloaded the Download Assistant from the Adobe site in order to try and obtain a trial version of Creative Suite, but once the Download Assistant file is downloaded and installed nothing happens.

It suggests on the site that the Download Assistant should open automatically but once the timeline has completed there is no further response.

This is a new Mac so not sure if there's anything else I should get in order to make this work? (I've also tried going back to the original download page and refreshing and clicking 'Download' again but with to no avail...)

Thanks. I have looked on that page and I can't see anything that relates to this issue. The closest answer is:

4. Adobe Download Assistant installs and opens, but the download doesn't start.

Under certain conditions, Adobe Download Assistant installs but does not immediately start downloading the trial product. If that happens, refresh the Adobe.com trial download page in your browser and then click the Download Now button again.

...but I've tried that and it just downloads the Download Assistant again???

Contact Adobe Customer Support (http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/). The page also provides you with the option of chatting 1-1 with a customer support person if they are available. A chat window will appear as soon as someone is available. You can also try the other resources on this page.

These are usually brower problems. Try Firefox.

Same issue. It's not a browser problem.

Brand spankin' new MacBook Pro with Lion. Download manager doesn't launch. Problem occurs using both Safari and Firefox. Same problem with installing Air.

I totally had the same problem too. All you need to do is go on "System Preferences" and onto "energy saver" and untick the box that says automatic graphics switching

Hope this helps
